I am delighted to announce that I won the award of 'Best Ceremony Music' for The North of England. The competition was inclusive of musicians from Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Cumbria among others. Winning this award has been a great recognition for me, and I look forward to performing at more Wedding Ceremonies across the Country in the coming months and years!

This Valentine's day was full of romance.... In Clitheroe. 

James was playing in 1823 Spinning Block Hotel in Clitheroe, North West. There was a lovely baby grand piano in the restaurant, on which James played 3 x 50 minute sets throughout the evening, playing a mix of Pop songs and Jazz songs to entertain the clientele. James already has Weddings booked in throughout the year, some in Liverpool, some North West England, and some nationally, however, there is always room for more bookings! Hiring a pianist for your Wedding ceremony is a great idea, a pianist can add an extra special touch for both religious and non-religious wedding ceremonies. They can be on hand to fill in any small gaps in the service. When I am booked to play for a Wedding Ceremony, the Bride and Groom get their choice of music for their entrance, signing of the register and their exit, as well as 30 minutes of Cocktail Piano whilst the guests arrive (or even longer if the Bride is running late... It's their prerogative!).

I played a Ceremony a few weeks ago in Aughton, near Liverpool. You can see the photo below. I am available for hire for Wedding Ceremonies, Arrival Drinks, Cocktail Hour, during the Wedding Breakfast or as part of a band for your evening entertainment. 

As well as being available to hire as a pianist for Weddings around the North-West of England, James is also accomplished at reading the room and being the perfect accompaniment to a Corporate or Charity event. In September James was playing Cocktail Piano for North West Spinal Injuries Centre Annual Dinner. A great night was had, with nearly £4,000 raised for the charity!  This fundraising dinner was held in Liverpool, and James led an intros game with the guests to win a bottle of Prosseco.  

When being hired to play Piano or Organ at Weddings, Functions or Corporate Events, it's always great to get good feedback from my performances. 

The first one is from playing Piano for a House Warming party near Preston, North West England. 

"What a find! James is a most talented young pianist.Before our event he wanted to know our likes in music, if there was any piece of music we would like him to play, then he would make certain he included it. He is very professional. Contact with him prior to our event was thorough and prompt. Any questions we had was promptly answered. Our do was informal, and he dressed to match, he looked super.
We will certainly ask him to play at our next event.

This second one is from when I played piano for a couples Wedding in Cheshire.

Along with his gigs this week, James has recorded a solo piano version of a song from a Wedding ceremony that he played in Cheshire. The bride and groom were so impressed with the version of their song and the atmosphere James created as the bride walked down the aisle, that they commissioned James to record their version!  

James has also performed at Weddings as part of a band this week, in the North West.

Throughout this weekend James has performed at 4 different events throughout England. First off on Friday night James was sessioning for a band at Sunshine Festival, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. This was to a crowd of around 9,000 people, playing keyboards and guitar. James' next gig was in a Function Band, playing for a Wedding night do in in Lymm, near Warrington, Cheshire. On Sunday James played two different events near Preston, Lancashire. First of James was playing for an open house for house-warming party in Inglewhite. James was then playing as part of Vintage Swing Thing, a jazz band playing original covers of pop songs, in which James plays Piano and arranges some of the tunes. This jazz band is available for Weddings and Corporate events too. James' work this weekend took him as a pianist around the North West of England as well as the Midlands and Cheshire, none in his base of Liverpool though! 

Below you can see a photo from the open house. A beautiful Boston baby grand was there, but James also has his own portable piano he can bring for your event. 

This last weekend, James performed both Piano and Organ at Weddings around the North West. He was booked to play Piano for the Wedding Ceremony of a couple in Mouldsworth, Cheshire. It was a great day in a lovely small Church just outside of Chester. The next day James was booked to play Cocktail Piano background music at a Hotel Wedding in Liverpool, where James held a Cocktail Piano residency. You can see photographs from both Weddings below.
